Ok the MAME emulator shows it's awsum posum power once again. I wanted the music from a certain pinball game, and after a little research i found this. PINMAME an emulator NOT for simulating a real pinball game with the ball and flippers, but only the actual curcuit board and display. This is an ideal platform for sampling a WIDE range of different and unique sounds. They made it pretty easy THX to the pinmame guys.
All you have to do is:
1. get PINMAME (http://pinmame.retrogames.com/downloads.html)
2. get your ROM/BIOS files from >insert favorite rom site here<
3. Put the roms in the roms folder
4. Startup your "game" with PINMAME
5. Now the fun begins. Press F4 and a sound command mode prompts for your input. Mash sum buttons to check out the sounds from the rom.
6. When you find sounds you want, use F5 to start/stop recording to a WAV file which is stored in the wave folder
Voila! |
