Hey bitches - if any of you can recommend a decent laptop for sal (NEW) I would love to hear from you. I need:

Min. 2GHz Dual Core
Min. 2GB Ram
Min. 100GB 7200rpm hard drive
NO FUCKING VISTA!

...and that's all - meaning: I don't want to hear your shit recommendations of sound cards, mouse pads or graphics cards etc.
Wut's the best buy out there?!

HP are pretty good (realy good screen, lots of cool little extras)

everyone in England seems to buy ACER cos they're good value and quite tough and well built

if you want to just use it for music, then you can get those specialised ones made. alienware do them made to order so you don't pay for bits you won't use, and they have cool cases Very Happy

I just got a new dell latitude d820, dual 2Ghz, 2Gbram, 512Mb Nvidia Quadro, 100Gb sata 7200rpm Hd and 100Gb Ide 7200rpm Hd.
This computer roxx

It's my second dell and I highly recommend getting one of theese..
Else you should go with the thinkpads.. All other computers are crap compared to dell and Ibm..
I have tried Acer, Apple, Fujitsu Siemens, HP/Compaq, Asus, Toshiba, MSI, Vega and Zepto laptops..
They all fit in the "crap for you home" category, U know like big screen TVs and coffee makers.
Whilst Ibm and dell make some serious equipment..

Trust me on this..
You can go "nono.. I wanna try something else that gives me more power for less $$" but you'll regret it sooner or later.. Like every single one that wouldn't take my advise serious did ..
Wink

arrow Exclamation Hideous.. Acer is on the bottom of the high score list, only Vega is more crappy.. Don't ever buy an acer.. It's really bad and not at all well build..

You should check the dell Latitude or XPS series and the Lenovo (IBM) thinkpad T-series. Thats their top of the line models..

I can only find the Latitude d830... but that still rocks massively, though.

hehe mine is old.. You should go with one of the latitude that are available on the homepage. The d830 is top of the line.
I didn't pay, I bought like 20 laptops and sold them all, so that I got mine for free..

I checked the prices, both the d830 and d630 are like 10K when fully configured..
Remember to uncheck Virksomhedssupport and CompleteCare, you save some money on that,

I liked my zepto a lot.. One of my friends is running linux on a zepto and it runs sweeeet..
I dunno though.. It's kind of a small company and they don't release driver updates as quickly as one could hope for. Thats kind of a big con in my world..
