Once again the German two-piece band and audiovisual collective AESTATE comes up with free downloadable EPs. Once again they are twins, two related track bundles released via two different labels, serving together about one hour of music which was considered to be non-fitting to other album concepts. “REMOUNT 3.10”, AESTATE´s first real post rock work, was already released on Digital Kunstrasen in October 2011. “REMOUNT 3.20” completes the new sounds with familiar IDM and post rock re-works.
As always, the group denies obeying genre borders, presenting their wide range of possibilities in composition and sound.
Actually, some parts of the EP had been originally produced for other Huff and Piayda related projects, but they are edited and are now adapted to the trademark sound.
The “REMOUNT 3“ EPs are documenting the groups process in rediscovering their own sound, the idea of using electronica as one style in making unique sound among other genres to be around to be adapted.
So, this EP contains some new inventions for the band, the rock drumming upon the cracked up bleeps and beats of “Perallel L Renegade”, the strange interpretation of breakbeat in “Mount Window” and the hypnotic and beatless hovering of “Nothing”.
“REMOUNT 3.20” is not a milestone in the band’s history, it is the path to a new album, it is documenting the ongoing transformation – and this is what AESTATE is all about.
